Meet Our Girls and Boys!
How We Care for Our Adult Dogs
At Pulley’s Wagging Tails Doxies, our dogs aren’t housed in a separate kennel or building—they live right here in our home with us, where they are truly part of our everyday family life.
All of our adults are crate trained, but their crates are not where they spend their lives. At bedtime, we take turns letting our dogs sleep with my husband and I, while others get to snuggle up with our kids. One of their favorite parts of the day is when everyone settles in for the evening and we pile onto the couch together for movie nights. There are always plenty of cuddles, treats, and Dachshunds trying to find the best spot!
Our adults are also leash trained and receive individual one-on-one time away from home. We take them on outings so they can experience new places, meet people, and continue building their confidence and socialization. We believe that individual attention is just as important as the time they spend together as a pack.
Caring for our dogs is truly a family effort. Our daughter-in-law Josselyn handles their monthly grooming and does an amazing job keeping everyone clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained.
Our daughter-in-law Sabina helps with the daily cleaning and upkeep of our dog areas as well as the backyard where everyone plays and goes potty. She also helps with photography and has been working on our beautiful website, giving it a more personal touch that better represents our family and our dogs. As she begins veterinary school, she will also be learning more about our whelping and birthing process. We are incredibly excited to watch her grow in veterinary medicine and look forward to one day having a veterinarian right here in our own family.
For us, raising Dachshunds isn't simply about breeding dogs. Our dogs are our family, and we treat them that way. They share our home, our couch, our beds, our outings, and our everyday lives.
Every single day includes lots of love, plenty of treats, and more Dachshund snuggles than we could ever count.
Nutrition is another important part of their care. Our adults are fed Royal Canin, along with carefully selected extras such as fish oil and vitamins to help support their overall health, coats, and well-being. We want to give them the very best care we can because that is exactly what they deserve.
